Sharkoon @ Computex 2024

Computex 2024:

Sharkoon is such an underdog, as they’re a brand that have often had some of the most interesting and competitively priced products, but never seem to quite be the big name here in the UK that they deserve to be. However, looking at their booth at Computex 2024, I’m hoping to see thing turn in their favour. Their new keyboards, the SGK50 S2, S3 and the S4 are bound to be a big hit with PC enthusiasts for one simple reason; wood!

We’ve seen wooden products in keyboards before, but quite often they’re fake wood, or laminated, vinyl, plastic, wood effect or simple add-ons such as just the wrist rest or a novelty key cap here and there. However, Sharkoon’s new keyboard is actually milled from wood, and that’s nothing short of impressive.

The key caps are double shot PBT, but they’ve also got some additional caps for fun that you can stick on as the Esc key (For example), and even that is CNC’d out of wood! But it has a traditional Cherry MX stem glued inside it.

The keyboards and the wrist rest are actually two separate products, it’s an optional extra, but honestly, I couldn’t imaging buying one of these keyboards without one, as they look so good together!

They’re a heavy lump too, with a solid-wood construction and two heavy grip pads on the bottom, they’re a perfect compliment to these new keyboards.

To compliment these new keyboards, they’ve got a range of new cases too, such as the Rebel C70 RGB. An ATX PC tower, with four pre-installed 120mm RGB fans, and a high-airflow design. Of course, the key selling point is the addition of a wood finish on the front panel.

Much to my amusement, they’re even making floor mats with a wood finish on them, albeit this one is obviously not made from real wood.

The wood stuff is great, but their hero product this year is the Elite Shark CA500. This premium ATX case comes with a curved tempered glass window that forms the front and left side windows, giving it a stunning pillarless aesthetic to show off your hardware.

There’s lots of room on the interior, giving it exceptional hardware support, that includes the latest BTF motherboard designs for ultra-clean cable routing, as well as the largest graphics cards on the market, such as the RTX 4090.

The case also supports the Elite Shark D100 add-on, which is an impressive 8″ monitor with retractable feet. It features an HDMI to USB-A connector, and can be used both in this case, or as a standalone unit.

With BTF motherboard support, all your cable routing is hidden out of sight, and there’s lot of space back here to accommodate doing all this stuff at the back of the case.
