Sharkoon is announcing the addition of the AI7000 case series to their chassis lineup. This AI7000 uses a standard ATX mid-tower size, with four accent colour options to choose from. Black, red, green or blue, the AI7000 even provides matching LED color fans to complete the theme. Within the series itself, users can choose between a showcase “glass” edition, or a functional “silent” edition.
Sharkoon AI7000 Glass or Silent
As you might have guessed from the name, the AI7000 Glass comes with a 4mm tempered glass side-panel. The silent edition on the other hand, has soundproof lining at the top and side panels. It loses the window on the side for viewing for practical reasons. It also loses the matching LED color fans pre-installed.
Both cases share the bulk of the features however, since they have identical bases. Two 5.25″ external drive bays are available at the front, and both have room for up to two 3.5-inch drives in the drive cage. One more 3.5-inch drive or two 2.5-inch drives can be installed on the side wall.
In terms of component support, installing graphics cards up to 380mm in length is possible since there are no HDD cages on the way. The maximum CPU cooler height is also set at a generous 175mm. Since there is a PSU cover on the way, the front radiator support is limited to 57mm thick radiators with fans. This front area also supports up to 2x 140mm fans/radiator, while the top supports up to 2x 120/140mm fans.
Pricing and Availability
Some stores in the UK such as https://www.idealo.co.uk/ already list these cases at £73.90. Some stores might show a price difference of £10 between the two versions however. This is due to the fact that the sound dampening material costs more than the tempered glass side-panel.
