The USB Type-C interface is quickly becoming a common standard when it comes to devices. Its compact, reversible and versatile nature makes it a superior connector solution compared to previous USB options. Which is why Sharkoon is updating their Quickstore line with the new Quickstore One enclosure that uses a Type-C connector.
The enclosure measures 130 x 83 x 16 mm, and weighs just 92.5 grams without any drives installed. Installation of a 2.5-inch drive is tool free, requiring users to just slide the cover open. Users can also choose between a silver or black anodized or silver aluminium version. The result is a durable and elegant storage solution which can also act as a heatsink if using mechanical drives.
The Quickstore One uses a USB 3.1 Type-C connector via Asmedia ASM1351 and ASM1542 Controllers, resulting in up to 10Gb/s transfer rate potential. There is even a status LED next to the USB Type C port indicating data transfer. Just like with the installation, it is completely Plug and Play on Windows 7/8/10, Mac OS X and Linux.
The Sharkoon Quickstore One is now available either black or silver for an MSRP of 24.99 euros.
