Surround sound isn’t everything as Sharkoon’s latest entry into the headset market shows. The new Sharkoon B1 is a stereo headset for gamers, whether it’s on mobiles, gaming consoles, or PCs. The new B1 is equipped with 40mm drivers, a modular cable, and a detachable microphone.
With all the RGB sensation going around, it’s nice to see an all black and simple piece of technology arriving. The B1 looks like it’s a sturdy headset that will last a long time and also be quite comfortable to wear. The reinforced headband, with synthetic leather and stylish stitching, is comfortably padded for optimum wear comfort while the ear cups are height adjustable, made from brushed aluminium for longevity even if you change the setup a lot. The ear cups are equally well padded which should let them have a perfect fit.
Thanks to its TRRS stereo jack, the B1 is not only compatible with smartphones, but also with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers as well as notebooks and Ultrabooks with modern TRRS ports. The headset cable is deliberately kept short at 110 cm and is practical for mobile usage or for connecting to a controller. The headset can also connect to computers by use of its included extension cable with TRRS port and two 3.5 mm stereo jacks. An inline controller is integrated into the extension cable for convenient access to both the volume control and microphone mute. When using the extension, the total cable length is 255 cm. All connectors on B1 are gold-plated and all cables are textile braided.
The Sharkoon B1 Stereo Headset is now available for the suggested retail price of 59.90 euros and it comes with a handy hard case for transporting.
