Sharkoon have announced today a new product that is sure to rock your world: the Sharkoon X-Tactic SR.
This multi-platform headset features both Dolby Headphone and Dolby Pro Logic II for a more than realistic sound experience. Compatible with Xbox, Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 as far as game consoles go, the SR is also compatible with PC, notebook and much more.
Thanks to the integrated Dolby Headphone Technology, the “Dolby Digital 5.1” signals and the “Dolby Digital 2.0” signal (thanks to the “Dolby Pro Logic II” Decoders) are transformed into 5.1 speaker sound for stereo headphones. To add to its effectiveness the authentic sounding localization allows the player to approach its virtual opponents from all directions. All of this through high-quality 40mm speakers to allow an intensive and realistic sound experience.
The cable kit that comes with it just allows for the same experience on a multitude of platforms, and Sharkoon has also given its costumers the choice between gaming and music listening style, both of which use different effects for a more enjoyable experience. The gaming mode places the focus on rich, smooth bass sound, so that particular gaming effects are accurately reproduced while the music mode on the other hand provides a more balanced sound. If you’re more of a classic stereo listener, you can just turn the Dolby Headphone feature off to please your listening desires. With the incredible amount of cables provided, you are also able to plug-in another headset to allow for a wider listening audience.
The power is delivered to the Sharkon X-Tactic SR via USB when it comes to Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC or Notebook although Sharkoon has also given you the possibility to enjoy the sound beyond those platforms with the optional USB adapter, so you can listen from more audio sources such as MP3 player, DVD player, smartphones and so on.
For console gamers, the Playstation 3 users will have to connect the SR via USB while Xbox users will connect them on their controller. The microphone also comes with a mute switch and a separate volume control for easy set-up.
To allow a more comfortable gameplay, the headband and ear cups are both padded, the microphone is detachable and flexible and you are provided with four meters of cable.
After all those features, we can see that not only does the headset look incredibly good, it’s full of features we just can’t refuse.
Expect this beast during the middle of September at reasonable MSRP of 104.90.
