Sharkoon Released 104-Key PureWriter Low-Profile Keyboard
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Last month Sharkoon introduced the PureWriter TKL, a tenkeyless keyboard featuring low-profile keys. Now they are introducing the 104-key full-size layout version, simply called PureWriter. Alternatively, it is available in German layout as well as standard US ANSI layout. Just how low are the low profile keys? The keycaps are only 6.2mm tall and the switches are Kailh’s new PG1350 short-throw switches. Users can choose between the tactile blue or the linear red version.
Sharkoon PureWriter Key Properties
Despite the low profile height, the Sharkoon PureWriter would make for a good gaming keyboard as well. It features four multimedia keys and full NKRO support as well as anti-ghosting keys. Each unit measures 436 x 127 x 35 mm and weights only 642 grams without the USB cable. This cable actually detaches for portability. Plus, users have the option of using either a shorter 50cm cable or a longer 150cm cable, both provided in the accessory pack.
Each Kailh switch operates at only 55 grams and has a 1.5mm travel distance to actuate. The shorter throw makes it ideal for fast input, whether gaming or typing. Additionally, it has full BLUE backlit keys so users have no problems finding keys in the dark. Secondary functions are also available through Fn key combinations.
Pricing and Availability
The 104-key PureWriter has an MSRP of 79.90 EUR, 10 EUR more than the PureWriter TKL. It should be available in retail stores starting mid-October.
