Sharkoon RGB HEX ATX PC Case Review

Design

Sharkoon has often had a thing for hexagons in their designs, and it seems the aptly named Hex is no exception. The front panel is littered with them, some closed off around the outside, creating a sort of frame, while the central ones are backed with a hard mesh, allowing for plenty of airflow to any front-mounted cooling.

There’s a small Sharkoon logo at the bottom too, not too in your face, which I appreciate.

The side panel is glass but stops short of a full panel and instead, the bottom edge joins up with the PSU shroud. You may prefer a full-glass side, but honestly, I think this looks pretty neat and tidy.

Up on the top, there’s a full mesh intake for more airflow, and it’s recessed into the metal so the dust cover doesn’t stick up at the edges. Beyond that, the plastic of the front panel is a little glossy, giving it a cheaper or at least, more old-school PC case look. However, Sharkoon has colour matches the paints and plastics really well, so it does look pretty uniform.

The right side panel is flush mounted, but otherwise, it’s just a plain black panel; simple, yet effective.

As for the interior, it’s a bit messy in here right out of the box with cables all over, but that’s something we can tidy up at build time. There’s a matching all-black interior, all black cables, and all black fittings, with only the frosty white of the RGB fans sticking out really, so it should look pretty slick once the hardware is installed.
