A Closer LookThe Xtatic SP is an average sized headset in our opinion when looking for comparison with other headsets. It features the simple over-the-head design that most games should find fit and are comforable for all shapes and sizes of heads.
The headset is mainly made from plastic and comes in a gloss black, reflective design which oozes with style. The SP logo is central to the cup and the Sharkoon logo is also printed on each side.
The headband is adjustable on both sides and locks into your desired position.
The headband feels very soft and of good quality featuring a black faux-leather. Both sides of the headband have added padding to protect your head and to remain comfortable after long periods of use. The outer aspect of the headband has the XTACTIC SP branding printed across it.
The Xtactic SP incorporates a design which fits comfortably over your ears and feature a cloth material which is soft and cushions against your head so that the cups fully cover your ears to give the best sound possible. By opting for cloth as opposed to leather or other similar materials, long periods of wearing them shouldn’t lead to mass amounts of sweat.
The headset has plenty of lead on it measuring at 370cm +/- 10cm leaving plenty of room to sit back from your chosen connection of PC, PS3, Xbox and much more.
Partway down the cable you will find a clip to fixate the cable to your shirt so that the cable is nicely tucked out of the way whilst gaming.
Also further down the cable is the remote unit which has a gloss black plastic design and features the SP logo once again. There is a push switch which enables or disables the microphone aspect of the headset.
The left side of the remote unit has a volume control wheel and switch to change from PS3/PC mode to Xbox mode due to the different connections used.
The right side includes a scroll wheel for controlling the volume of the voice projected as well as a 3.5mm jack port for installing the Xbox 360 adapter cable which then fits into your controller.
At the end of the cable is a 3.5mm audio jack and USB port. Generally we would see most headsets with a gold-plated connector but Sharkoon decided not to plump for one on this headset.
