Sharkoon X-Tatic SP Stereo Headset Review

Final ThoughtsI’m going to try and wrap this up without repeating what was said about the SX headset that we reviewed, and deep down they are very similar headsets with one giving extra connectivity and that is certainly the unique selling point of this headset. It has a multitude of connectors allowing for usage on the PC, Xbox or PlayStation 3 and with a stylish design and gloss black looks it seems to tick all of the right boxes.
There are a couple of downsides, but this is something you will already know before purchasing and the main one is that it’s a stereo headset and not aimed for 5.1 usage in mind. That doesn’t mean that 5.1 audio can’t be played, it just means you shouldn’t expect the experience that you’d get from Dolby or DTS based audio. You will also find that the bass isn’t fantastically punchy but for around £40 you can’t really expect the sound quality that you’ll hear from a £150 headset.
Overall we’re happy with pretty much everything, from the styling, to the features, to the real-world usage which gave us clear, concise audio through the soft, cushioned cups and also carried the audio and outputted to others users through the microphone extremely well.
Pros:
- Stylish
- Comfortable
- Long cables
- In-line volume control
- Xbox connectivity
- PlayStation 3 connectivity
- Great sound output
- Microphone is extreme receptive
- Affordable
Cons:
- No 5.1
- Bass could be punchier
