There are a fair few big-name system integrators here in the UK, and of course, plenty more on a global scale. However, it’s a tough market, and maintaining a strong customer relationship over the years can be a demanding task. As such, many system integrators come and go, are reputation is often king in the eye of the consumer. Especially so when talking about gaming PCs, as the enthusiast market is better educated now than ever, thanks in no small part to sites like ourselves here at eTeknix who help you dive into the details of what makes up the expansive universe of PC hardware.
When looking for a new PC, building yourself has some appeal, but buying all the parts you need, getting them delivered on time (and in one piece), ensuring they’re all compatible and assembling everything can be time-consuming and often more expensive than ordering one that’s pre-assembled… You wouldn’t think so, but it’s true more often than not. Plus, dealing with mixed warranties is a hassle, especially for first-time system builders or hopelessly unlucky PC gamers who have hardware failures more than most. System integrators give you a whole system warranty, and that piece of mind goes a heck of a long way.
And that’s where OPSYS comes into play. Firstly, I like their name, OP+SYS = Overpowered Systems I guess, and who doesn’t like an overly powerful system!? They’ve asked me to check out what they have to offer, and honestly, I’m coming away pretty darn impressed. Firstly and foremost because they have one of the best configurator systems I’ve used to date.
Their site is fast and responsive, which I appreciate, but especially so while making configuration changes to my chosen build. Many sites use CGI images of the products or still images of each component which you simply tick and that’s it… but you don’t get to see what it will look like. OPSYS have multi-angle 3D photos of their cases and components and they pride themselves that what you see is what you get.
That may sound stupidly obvious, but it often is not the case with pre-made systems, where you see a “possible configuration” and you make your changes, then you see what it looks like when you get it. Well, not with OPSYS, so top marks right there!
As I said, reputation is king, and they’re clearly doing the right things here. Looking at Trust Pilot, they’re holding a strong lead on the competition, and there are some big names on there too. Now, admittedly you have to remember that people are quick to complain and slow to praise on the internet, and some brands have a long history, and the internet never forgets. OPSYS have been going a good number of years now though, and it looks like they’re holding up their promises.
Let’s end the cycle of buying expensive new systems only to replace them again after a few years – OPSYS PCs can grow with you as your needs evolve.
OPSYS want your PC to grow with you, your needs, your budget and the years to come. So they offer a free annual PC health check, and their Evolution Warranty even gets you lifetime free labour too. Here’s the blurb from the official website:
“OPSYS customers are entitled to a free annual health check so that your PC lasts longer combined with a heavily discounted, 1-Week Level-Upgrade service so you can maintain your ‘OP’ status indefinitely with minimal disruption. With access to a lifetime of free labour as part of your Evolution Warranty, this should be the last full system you ever buy – meaning your investment will last longer and result in less planet-damaging, IT waste going to landfills.”
OPSYS promise a best-in-class system with their Evolution Warranty. They claim it is truly one of a kind and will give you added peace of mind when you invest in a high-performance OPSYS machine. It comes with lifetime labour cover for repairs, upgrades, diagnostics, a 3-year parts coverage, and much more. Honestly, that’s very comprehensive and you’ll struggle to find a better coverage plan in today’s market.
“The OPSYSxYou Custom PC Design software has been designed to for the entire PC community to enjoy, self builders and prebuild PC customers alike can use this one-of-a-kind tool to eliminate the guess work that goes into designing a custom PC and instead allows you to visualise each selection as it goes into the case in real time unlike any other configurator on today’s market. With simple to follow selection guides, auto compatibility filtering, key spec information, performance comparison scores, FPS estimation, 360 viewing angles and a huge, unrestricted choice of all the popular brand components – this station has everything one needs to design their perfect PC and see exactly how it will look before they commit to buying anything. Whether they decide to build it themselves or have an OPSYS expert do so, that is down to the individual.” – OPSYS
They clearly pride themselves on quality, and in their own words “first class customer experience is our mission – because the little details make the big difference.” and I couldn’t agree more. The PC market has become a little flat, with all brands broadly offering the same things, so you have to do something extra to stand out from the crowd.
They have ready-to-ship systems, if you’re in a hurry. However, on their system integrator as you make more changes, if stock of a component is pending, or the build becomes more complicated, or any number of other time-sensitive factors, you can see in real-time how long your custom system would take to complete, be that 1 day or 10 days, but they’re upfront with the timeline and the price every step of the way.
This is what separates those who build PCs and sell them and those who build a community and relationship with their customers. If you sell PCs, you’re going to run into failing hardware, user errors, broken somethings… it happens, tech can be fragile at times, and so can a customer whose PC isn’t letting them play games, or can’t figure out what they need or what from their new PC… or even how far their budget will go. As OPSYS say, “Our mission is not just about making the best gaming PCs on the market, this isn’t enough. We need to ensure every customer has the best possible experience right from the moment they land on our website.” That’s why they independently test all parts, provide comprehensive Help Me Choose guides, and have their dedicated team of industry and gamer experts on hand to help you.
“Personal Computers should be more PERSONAL – Let us help you to find your win, your way. OPSYS has been born out of a need for a new market leader for premium, custom Gaming PCs. In an industry that is plagued with soulless homogeny and poor build quality, we want to deliver a pioneering experience in first designing your own PERSONAL Computer and then unlock the potential for our customer’s investment to last longer than it has ever done before.
Rather than just setting a new benchmark for PC build quality alone, we are committed to creating a new community of PC gaming enthusiasts who demand the very best in all all aspects of their consumer journey and who want to own a system that reflects them and their high standards as they seek to gain the ultimate edge in game – this is the OPSYS Legion of OP Gamers.
In return for their membership, we make a commitment to them to keep them OP not on day 1, but from day 1. Lifetime tech support, lifetime labour cover for upgrades and repairs, annual MOT service, Content Creator reward scheme to earn upgrade credit, monthly gaming and system optimisation tips, new component release notifications, regular competitions, puzzles and side quests – as a member of the OPSYS Legion, you have us driving you to stay so OP, you don’t just play the game, but Break The Game.” – OPSYS
They make big claims, seriously big claims, but as I said, their system configurator is top-tier and easy to use, their review scores are constantly punching above the competition, their prices look great, and they have one of the most comprehensive warranties out there. OPSYS says “once a member of the Legion, we look after you for life.” and well… I think I have to put that to the test. How about we get one of their systems in for review? Let us know in the comments! You can check out what they have to offer at opsys.co.uk.
