Shuttle Displays The New SZ170R8 Mini PC

Shuttle is one of the most iconic names when it comes to barebone PCs and really helped to progress the notion of small form-factor systems. The company’s latest model dubbed the SZ170R8 supports the latest Intel 6th Generation Skylake processors and accepts up to four 3.5″ hard disk drives. The chassis is also capable of housing large PCI-E x16 cards and can accommodate up to 64GB DDR4 memory. This makes it a portable powerhouse sporting an absolutely stunning specification. In terms of power, the unit is equipped with an 80 Plus Silver 500W PSU to maintain good efficiency. The machine is cooled by various heat pipes to perfectly balance low thermals and acceptable noise levels. On another note, you can add an ultra-fast M.2 drive to reach astounding read/write speeds.

Other features include support for three independent screens via two DisplayPorts and one HDMI. The SZ170R8 measures 13.0 (L) x 8.5 (W) x 7.8 (H) inches and comes with a three-year limited warranty on parts and labour. Marty Lash, director sales and marketing at Shuttle Computer Group described the new machine and said:

“As with all Shuttle computers, our new SZ170R8 packs a powerful punch in a small form factor,”

“And with increased storage options and flexibility with graphics and third-party cards, the applications are endless.”

The SZ170R8 will be displayed in Booth #746 at InterOp, the IT and Networking Expo, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, May 5-6, 2016. The system is now available for $449.99 from participating retailers.
