Shuttle Unveils The DQ170 Slim PC

Shuttle is one of the most respected PC makers and constructs a wide range of dependable products including barebone systems. The company’s latest offering is the DQ170 slim PC designed for applications which require extra encryption and enhanced security. The DQ170 has an integrated Trusted Platform Module 2.0 which provides a host of keys to secure HDD data. This means anyone without the correct credentials cannot access any sensitive data. On another note, the product’s Intel Core vPRO processor supports Active Management Technology. This particular invention can be used to remotely manage and troubleshoot the client PC over a wired or wireless network, effectively reducing the cost of on-site maintenance.

The product opts for a 1.3-liter slim design and the body thickness comes to a total of 43mm. Furthermore, there are fewer cables and no daughter board which makes the build process much easier. The cooling system revolves around an exclusive heat pipe module and smart fan design. This should result in low temperatures at low noise levels. The DQ170 has four USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two RS232 and a built-in M.2 2260 connector. Also, there’s a half size mini-PCI-E slot to install a WiFi or similar kind of device.

Marty Lash, director sales and marketing, Shuttle Computer Group discussed the product’s security features and said:

“We take computer security and crypto-processing very seriously; we realize that there are a number of industries that need extra defense against hackers,”

“With TPM and vPRO support, the DQ170 strengthens our place in the markets that use highly sensitive data like DoD, medical, banking, and enterprise.”

The Shuttle DQ170 is available to order and comes with a three-year warranty as standard.
