A Closer Look
The system is certainly very compact, with a form factor that looks like a slightly enlarged 5.25″ drive removed from a PC. There’s a good amount of ventilation down the left side, which is important on a small system as components are typically quite confined.
Even more ventilation on the right side, this time with two small fans pre-installed, which are actually part of the CPU cooler and we’ll take a closer look at that in a moment.
The front panel is very nicely designed with a professional looking glossy finish and a stylish tower button on the right. The front cover is a push-click release and has two sections, one at the top and one at the bottom.
Opening up the top, you can see there is a slim bay, giving you room to expand the system with an optical drive or hot swap hard drive caddy.
In the bottom section, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a pair of HD audio jacks, giving you lots of connectivity within easy reach; all of these ports and the clean front panel will work well on a HTPC type setup.
Around the back, you’ll find the motherboard I/O which comes very well equipped. There’s the DC IN jack for the external power supply, a PS/2 port, serial ports, dual LAN, four more USB ports and more audio jacks. There’s no doubt this a versatile setup and it should mean great compatibility for networks, offices, home use, digital signage and much more.
Nothing much to see on the base of the unit, just a durable metal frame, and the serial numbers.
