Ever since its ‘release’ back in November last year, it’s not exactly been a secret that getting hold of a PS5 console has proven to be a very challenging task for many. While it certainly hasn’t been impossible, a combination of high-consumer demand and scalpers has largely only seen the exceptionally vigilant rewarded with their nice shiny new system. – Following an increasing number of stock drops over the last couple of weeks, however, there are signs that 7 months on from the PS5’s release, retailer supply levels might finally be starting to catch up to consumer demand!
Now, I should make it abundantly clear that I don’t think we’re in a position yet where you’ll be able to simply walk into your local store and pick a PS5 up. Albeit, that has surprisingly been possible through certain retailers who have opted to retain in-store supplies rather than listing them online (Argos for example). – With a number of drops already noted over the last few days, however, a fresh inside source claim by ‘@PS5StockAlertUK‘ is claiming that masses of new drops are expected this week in the UK from many different retailers.
Put simply, the drops seem to be coming far more quickly and frequently now, potentially suggesting that things might have started to get a little better. – There was even an instance over the weekend where one online retailer had PS5 bundles in stock, and they remained available for nearly 6 hours!
We might have just started to enter the point now where the ‘must have’ consumers have been satisfied, and we’re now transitioning onto the less demanding ‘would likes’. – So, although certainly not confirmed, if you have been patiently waiting for your opportunity to grab a PlayStation 5, it seems that July is currently shaping up to the best month yet in terms of overall stock levels.
With this in mind, though, and I cringe at mentioning it now, but if you really do want one of Sony’s latest consoles, you might want to act sooner rather than later. Through a combination of Black Friday and then Christmas, you can likely expect PS5 stock levels in Q4 to once again get more than a little scarce as Father Christmas looks to undoubtedly put as many of them as he can under the tree!
What do you think? Do you get the impression that stock levels for the PlayStation 5 are getting better? Have you managed to get one for yourself yet? And if so, how challenging was that process for you? – Let us know in the comments!
