SilentiumPC Fera 5 CPU Cooler Review

Performance
Given that the SilentiumPC Fera 5 is a budget-focused cooling solution, we clearly did not expect this to provide any high-end results in our testing. Sometimes you simply have to balance your expectations against what you’ve paid. Against many of these preconceptions, however, the Fera 5 is a surprisingly very decent little cooler. Although not topping our charts in terms of amazingly low temperatures, it still manages to provide some good results at stock levels. Admittedly, things get a little warmer in our overclocking test, but then if you plan to push your hardware hard, this isn’t the sort of cooler you should be looking at. For a moderate push, though? We think the Fera 5 will handle it well enough.
Without a doubt, however, one of the best results seen here was in acoustics. The Fera 5 was amazingly quiet in stock or overclocked settings, yet it still managed to provide some nearly equally as impressive CPU temperature scores. Put simply, for a budget cooler, this does a lot better than many models that are at least twice (and in some cases over three times) as expensive! You can’t argue with that!
