SilentiumPC Fera 5 Dual Fan CPU Cooler Review

Performance
Although the SilentiumPC Fera5 Dual Fan is something of a budget entry-level CPU (in terms of its price tag), in terms of the performance it offers, it punches way above its weight! – At stock levels, this provided some of the lowest load temperatures we have seen while also, perhaps surprisingly, maintaining an exceptionally low noise output.
Even when overclocked, although things clearly got a bit toastier, it still managed to handle it without getting any more notably louder than it was at stock. – Albeit, if you were looking towards a cooler with medium to high-levels of overclocking in mind, I would be willing to concede that this is not the most ideal solution for long term operation.
Given that this question is almost certainly going to be asked though, how does this dual fan design compare to the standard single-fan model? Well, the short answer is, pretty much exactly what you would expect. The CPU temperatures are slightly lower, while the noise output is slightly higher. More fans, less heat, but overall more RPM. Makes sense right? – Does it make the Dual Fan a better or worse option though? Well, we’re coming up on our conclusions now, so you’re about to find out what we think.
