At the time of writing, the SilentiumPC Fera 5 Dual Fan CPU cooler is available to purchase for a price in the region of £29.99. So in comparative terms, strictly involving cost, we’re definitely at the lower entry-level of budgets here. – Despite any connotations that tier of product might bring you, however, the Fera 5 Dual Fan offers a level of performance that’s well above its exceptionally benign price tag. I’ve seen coolers cost twice as much that don’t perform half as well as this, and overall, making this great value for money!

Overview

Although clearly not a premium-level product, the SilentiumPC Fera 5 Dual Fan manages to offer a sleek and smart aesthetic with performance figures that would easily rival (and possibly beat) the vast majority of its competition and even 240mm AIO liquid coolers. – Coming from an overall product that’s as small as the Fera 5 Dual Fan is, this is nothing short of truly remarkable.

Don’t get me wrong, there are more than a few indicators that masses of money has not been thrown into this product. For what it offers in looks, CPU temperature control, and low-noise output, however, this would be a great option that would suit practically any system build I can think of.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re after an inexpensive cooling solution that offers you amazing levels of performance from what you pay at the checkout, then the short version is that the SilentiumPC Fera Dual Fan is an amazing choice to make, and if you do pick this cooler, presuming you don’t care about the lack of ARGB lighting, I’m pretty certain you’ll be delighted with the performance it offers.

A more critical question though. Given that this is £5 more expensive than the single-fan ‘standard’ Fera 5, is this worth the extra money? Well, I suppose it depends on what your needs are. The standard Fera 5 is undoubtedly a bargain at £24.99. The Fera 5 Dual Fan, however, does offer you better performance for not a lot more money. Yes, it might just be the inclusion of a 2nd-fan, but as our test showed, it was enough to make a difference with the performance without having any notable impact on the acoustic output.

So, in conclusion, between the two I’d probably recommend the Fera 5 Dual Fan as a better option just because it keeps your CPU slightly cooler, but between the two of them, whichever you get you’re not going to be disappointed.
