This may be a fairly compact cooler design, but performance clearly isn’t an issue for the Fortis 3, providing temperatures that are on par with many more expensive coolers.

Pushing the clocks up, the Fortis 3 certainly started to feel the heat, but managed to run without issue. While I would normally suggest a bigger cooler for the level of overclocks we use, it’s perfectly reasonable to say it will be ideal for those using boost clocks or a less aggressive level of voltage on their CPU.

At stock, the temperatures were certainly nice and cool, and I’m happy to report that the cooler was quiet as a mouse too. This is great news for those with non-overclocked CPUs, as it’s offering performance on par with many far more expensive coolers.

This is a pleasant surprise too, while running a little warmer than ideal, it’s still very quiet and that means that you could easily push the fan RPM up to bring the temperature down, or even just go for a less aggressive overclocked and enjoy the whisper quiet performance; while I like the best of both worlds, at this price range, it’s a fair compromise.
