At stock levels, the SilentiumPC Fortis 5 is undoubtedly a high-performance cooling solution with it offering strong levels of temperature control while also providing some of the best acoustic levels we’ve ever encountered. While, in terms of temperatures, it’s admittedly not topping our charts below, you do have to note that it is among some exceptionally potent company. With this in mind, the performance this relatively small cooler has provided is undoubtedly impressive.
The only limitation the SilentiumPC Fortis 5 really has is when it comes to overclocking. While the temperature control under these settings is by no means bad, I would suggest that for that kind of user, getting something a little larger (or an AIO) would probably be a better long-term solution. Then again though, don’t forget that we operate the fan on its default BIOS settings. As such, for a little trade-off on noise, some lower CPU temperatures could undoubtedly be achieved here. And also, we might add, in the stock levels as well.
