Silicon Power Introduces Bolt B80 Portable SSD

Silicon Power is announcing their new Bolt B80 portable external SSD solution. Sporting a round aluminium shell, the Bolt B80 measures 75.0 x 75.0 x 11.9mm and is quite slim and compact. It is also very lightweight and portable, weighing only 53 grams. The unique UFO-like design has actually been recognized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council. It has earned the Taiwan Excellence Award 2018 and is featured at COMPUTEX d&i awards 2017.

It is available in 120GB, 240GB, or 480GB capacity options, and uses a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connector cable. In terms of performance, the Bolt B80 is capable of 500MB/s read and 450MB/s write and is compatible with Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP, Mac and Linux OSes. Once plugged in, an LED indicator lets users know of the activity.

The aluminium shell is not just for looks, but it is also for durability. In fact, it survives a 122m MIL-STD 810G 516.7 Procedure IV transit drop test. Plus, unlike other compact external drives, it is IP68 dust and water-proof.

On top of all these features, Silicon Power also offers the Bolt B80 with a free download of SP Widget software for data backup & restore, AES 256-bit encrytion, and cloud storage.
