SilverStone has unveiled the Strider Platinum line-up which comes in 550W, 650W and 750W models to suit a wide scope of power demands. In the past few years, efficiency ratings have been at the forefront of innovation and rapidly progressed from 80+ bronze power supplies all the way up to 80+ titanium. It’s debatable whether this makes any noticeable difference to the average end-user, but improved efficiency is always a welcome step forward.
The Strider Platinum series revolves around impeccable efficiency ratings and a fully-modular design to make cable management much easier. Other features include a 24/7 continuous power output with 40℃ operating temperature and class-leading single +12V rail. This ensures the power is delivered in a stable and reliable manner. Furthermore, Strider Platinum PSUs contain a ultra-silent 120mm fan which is capable of a semi-fanless passive mode in low wattage states.
Silverstone also opted for a strict ±3% voltage regulation to reduce ripple and help with quiet operating under heavy load. Additionally, each unit employs a compact design with a depth of 140mm for easy installation in a wide array of cases. In terms of pricing, the 550 watt model will retail for $131.88 excluding VAT, while the 650watt costs $143.88 and the 750watt retails at $165.48. The entire range will be available from October 19th.
