SilverStone released their Argon series of CPU coolers about three months ago and this launch comprised of the AR01, AR02 and AR03. We have actually already reviewed the SilverStone AR01 and you can see our review here. Today we are taking a look at what you might call the AR02’s younger sibling as this is essentially an identical CPU cooler except shrunken down quite a lot. Unlike its bigger sibling it features three 6mm not 8mm heat pipes, a 92mm fan not a 120mm fan and a much smaller heatsink. You can see the full specifications below.
Being so low cost and compact this CPU cooler is really aimed at budget users with space constraints and would be perfect for micro-ATX and HTPC cases that only support small CPU coolers. With quite significant down-sizing versus the AR01 we are expecting the performance to drop off a bit but the AR01 was an epic performing CPU cooler as our results showed and so we are still expecting results from this AR02 to be strong.
