Silverstone Argon AR04 CPU Cooler Review

A Closer Look
Overall the design is pretty basic; we’ve got an exposed 80mm fan on the top, which is mounted directly into the frame of the cooling fins and it’s designed to blow air down into the base and edges of the cooler.
The fan is set right down into the fins; a nice trick to help keep the profile so low. The cooler is mounted using the annoying twist lock system that you find on stock coolers, it’s not great, but it certainly gets the job done. Each corner features a cut-away to the heat sink to allow the twist lock mounts to sit flush with the cooler, meaning their not going to stick up above it once installed.
There is a standard 3-pin fan cable running directly from the fan and the 6mm heat pipes are cut flat through the heat sink, allowing for direct contact to the CPU.
The whole thing feels pretty solid and the fins are actually rather thick, so there is no flex to them and hopefully this will mean they’ll handle a little more heat stress.
