Silverstone GD07 HTPC Chassis Review

With the system complete and the cage back in place we can see just what the system looks like when complete, the only thing I must stress is that we have the Dark Rock II which before mounting measures (L x W x H) 97 x 138 x 166mm and I’m sorry to say it doesn’t fit, with the side panel in place this cooler has about 2mm clearance from the chassis, which no doubt will result in some serious heat issues, so a much lower profile cooler is recommended for this build, unfortunately there was no mounting space for our Antec Kuhler 920 either, hence why we opted for the BeQuiet! cooler.
There is no cable management to speak of in this chassis either, which isn’t all that important if I’m honest, fortunately there was plenty of room to stuff cables on the left side, but had we had more drives installed, things could start getting a little crowded here, you can see in the picture above though, that things really don’t look to bad in terms of air flow even without cable management solutions.
Around the back we can see there is plenty of ventilation for our MSI GTX 560Ti, you can also see our CPU cooler behind the 2 x 80mm fan mounting points, had we had a better fitting cooler there would be plenty of airflow for it here.
