Silverstone Introduces FG122 and FG142 RGB LED Fan Frames

Adds RGB LED to Any 120mm and 140mm Fans

RGB LED fans look cool but they can be quite expensive. Some even cost as much as $110 for a 3-piece kit. Which is why Silverstone is announcing another new option for users on a budget. Introducing the FG122 for 120mm fans and FG142 for 140mm fans. These two are fan accessories that mount in front of an existing fan and adds an RGB LED halo.

Inside is a 24-piece RGB LED strip that are addressable, resulting in the ability to run gradients or as a solid colour choice. This is similar to the FG121 and FG141 which Silverstone introduced at CES 2017 last year. The biggest exception of course is the lack of the lattice pattern across. With just the RGB halo ring around the fan opening, airflow is completely unrestricted.

It comes in a 3-pin and 4-pin connector (+5V, D, G and +%, D, NP, G), draws 1A and weighs 30 grams each.

How Much is the SST-FG122 and SST-FG142?

While Silverstone did not disclose the official pricing for the FG122 and FG142 RGB LED fan accessory kit yet, it is safe to assume it is close to the FG121 and FG141 pricing. Each of those fan accessories cost around $12.99 to $15.99 USD.

UPDATE: Both the FG122 and FG142 will be available in the EU starting March 25. The FG122 has an MSRP of €8.50 while the FG142 costs €12 excluding VAT.
