SilverStone Launches TP02-M2 M.2 SSD Cooling Kit
It’s no secret that PCI-based NVMe drives run hot, and in my opinion as a storage reviewer, you shouldn’t run them without a heatsink or very good airflow. While a lot of drives come with a pre-installed heatsink, the one you want to use might not. In that case, SilverStone has you covered with their latest product: The TP02-M2 M.2 SSD cooling kit (Product Link). It increases the surface and thereby the ability to dissipate heat.
SilverStone TP02-M2 Cooling Kit
SilverStone’s new TP02-M2 cooling kit utilises an aluminium alloy heatsink to increase the cooling area. Just as any other heatsink works. It’s not rocket science. For an efficient heat conduction, SilverStone includes two thermal pads with different thickness.
The TP02-M2 is designed for 2280 SSD modules which means that those of you with 22110 are out of luck with this kit. Still, 2280 is by far the most common M.2 form factor and the one which most will have.
The whole kit should be very easy to apply and install thanks to the included silicone bands. They should also prevent any accidental damage to your M.2 SSD during the installation.
Feature Highlights
- Aluminum alloy heatsink increases M.2 SSD cooling area
- Efficient heat conduction pad for reducing temperature
- Double layer design enhances SSD cooling for stability and efficiency
- Supports 2280 length M.2 SSD
- Easy to apply and affix with silicone bands without damaging M.2 SSD
Pricing and Availability
The new TP02-M2 M.2 cooling kit from SilverStone will be available from the 27th of February in the EU. That is not a long time to wait and the price isn’t high either. The kit comes with an MSRP of just €8.90.
