Silverstone Milo Series ML06B-E Mini-ITX Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Silverstone Milo SST-ML06E-B is available from Overclockers UK for £72.95. Admittedly, the price is a little expensive, but the build quality goes a long way to justifying that. Readers in the US can pick it up from Amazon.com for $74.99.

Overview

I’ve seen quite a lot of compact Silverstone chassis over the years and I’ve yet to see one that wasn’t brilliant in at least one way. The Milo is no exception and is a prime example of SilverStone’s engineering skills. With a tiny 7-Liter capacity, the Milo is sure to keep most of your desktop or AV setup free from clutter, it’s very easy to find a spot for such a compact system and especially so with the use of the vertical mount.

Of course, there have been some sacrifices to achieve this. There’s almost no space for cable routing, I had to result to literally cram them with force into the gaps around the motherboard; it’s not perfect, but I got the job done. Then there’s the fact that you’re limited to a half-width expansion card, if you plan on using one at all in this chassis. Of course, if you’re looking for a compact gaming chassis, you would do better to check out the Silverstone RVZ01.

The price is a little high, or at least it feels like a lot of money for such a small chassis. However, you do get durable steel construction on the main chassis, a beautifully finished brushed aluminium front panel, USB 3.0 ports, a vertical mount, a high-quality pre-installed fan and, of course, it looks pretty great too, so it’s certainly worth the investment.

If you’re building a compact work computer for your office, or need a cool looking HTPC solution, the Milo certainly ticks all the right boxes and it’s another great quality product from Silverstone.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Room for a half-width expansion card
  • Good cooling
  • Dust filter included
  • Vertical and horizontal mounting
  • Slim ODD compatible
  • Aluminium front panel

Cons

  • Cable management can be tricky

“The Silverstone Milo ML06 is small enough to fit on your desktop or as part of a home AV setup and stylish enough to look great in either. It may be a little expensive, but the sleek looks and durable build quality are well worth the investment.”
