Silverstone Milo SST-ML08B Mini-ITX Gaming Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Silverstone Milo SST-ML08B is available from Overclockers UK for a very reasonable £69.95. That’s great value for money for a chassis of this caliber and with a unique set of features, making it a great and affordable solution for those building a HTPC gaming system.

Overview

The latest mini-ITX chassis from Silverstone is simply stunning, sure it’s got more than a little in common with the Silverstone RVZ02, but while the Raven series is styled for those who love aggressive styling, the Milo is a lot more versatile. It’s styled to look understated and stylish, so it’s not going to look out of place next to your desk, in the office, under your TV, or anywhere for that matter.

HTPC gaming systems are nothing new, but they’re often quite box-like to allow room for the graphics card and power supply. Of course, Silverstone cracked that problem by using SFX power supplies and the GPU riser card, allowing for a significantly slimmer chassis design. The use of SFX power supplies used to be a bit of a limiting factor, but with companies (including Silverstone) now producing 600W units in this form factor, powering a high-end graphics card and overclocked system from one is easily done these days.

Build quality is superb throughout, although I wouldn’t have expected anything less from Silverstone. A lot of care has gone into the little details too, from tool free drive installation, clip-on dust filters, cable routing holes where you really need them, heck, there are even cable management spaces despite the chassis small size.

Overall, this is one of the best mini-ITX chassis I’ve ever seen and if you’re looking for something small, versatile, and still extremely capable of housing high-end gaming hardware, then the Milo is certainly the way to go.

“The latest mini-ITX chassis from Silverstone is one of the best small form factor chassis we’ve ever seen. Perfect at home, in the office, under your TV or anywhere that you want a powerful gaming PC, without taking up a lot of space.”
