Silverstone Nightjar 520W Passive Power Supply Review

A Closer Look – Interior

Silverstone’s Nightjar 520W power supply is based on Seasonic’s latest 80 Plus Platform design. It uses state of the art technology including a full bridge topology and a separate daughterboard for the 12v rail regulation for more efficient heat dissipation. Additionally Seasonic make use of an LLC resonant controller for better primary side efficiency and DC-DC converters for better secondary side efficiency. The primary hold up capacitor is provided by Hitachi and is rated for 420V, 320uF and 105 degrees celsius operation. Seasonic have installed the DC to DC converters onto the modular cable PCB to ensure that the minor rails are more efficient.
