Stock CPU temperatures weren’t amazing. Considering the SilverStone NT06 Pro cooler is much lower profile than this, the results are disappointing as SilverStone have outdone themselves with their own products.
Sadly, Overclocking didn’t change anything. For a cooler with six heatpipes and dual 80mm fans (which aren’t even included), I was really expecting to see something much better here. I guess you could say these results are good considering the height, but even so both the NT06 Pro and NH-L12 were smaller and both performed equally as good (if not better) consider the fact both included fans and are at the same price point as this.
The SilverStone NT01 Pro can be used passively according to SilverStone. However, the temperatures we saw didn’t give us much hope that these would be good enough to tame our test system, even at stock. So our only real option was to use fans. However, if you happen to be using a processor with a lower TDP than a i5 3570K then you could comfortably achieve passive operation.
