SilverStone released a new mobile enclosure called the TS13 and best of all, it is also compatible with the previously released MS06 drive bay. Where the MS06 itself only accepts up to 7mm drives, this new TS13 enclosure can take up to 9.5mm drives.
The bigger internal size allows for better usage of HDDs that often go above the 7mm height that SSDs come in. The enclosure is compatible with SATA3 drives and it is naturally also backward compatible with SATA2 and SATA. It connects through USB 3.0 and as such it’s capable of up to 5Gbps transfer speeds.
The body itself is made of aluminium while the ends are plastic. This construction allows for a great heat dissipation even with mechanical drives that run hotter and thanks to the portability, you can take all your data with you where ever you go. The enclosure is great on its own, but it is the perfect addition for people that already have a MS06 docking in their system and want to expand their hot-swap and portable drive abilities with more enclosures.
The new SilverStone TS13 is available now around the world and it comes with a suggested retail price of just $18.86 USD.
