A Closer Look – Exterior
Right out of the box, the new Raven looks, well, it looks pretty much the same as the old one. This is no bad thing, the original (and this new one) are rocking a great look that is sure to appeal to those building a gaming HTPC. Right up front, headset and microphone jacks, as well as dual USB, more than enough connectivity there, as well as the usual power buttons.
Down the sides, two clip-on panels with some really cool designs for the ventilation, and airflow is important in such a small chassis, so the more vents the better.
And a mirror of that design on the other side, the only other notable ventilation in view is that 120mm fan mount on top, which is fed by a slim 120mm fan.
Around the back, some passive ventilation above the motherboard I/O and then on the right, you’ll find a two slot full-size PCI bay, as well as the mains power pass-through cable port.
There’s more cooling on the underside, with a dual slot vent for the GPU, and a single 120MM fan installed there. It’s likely a good idea to add/remove fans there to match your GPU cooling requirements. Finally, some passive ventilation below the PSU mount.
