Silverstone SETA D1 Case Review

Silverstone is one of the most respectable PC component manufacturers and designers in the world. They’ve often dabbled with modern PC trends, but for the most part, they’ve gone at their own pace, and focused on usability, practicality and performance over aesthetic trends. That’s not to say their cases look bad, far from it, but I think it’s fair to say they stick to more traditional aesthetics for a lot of their range. That’s certainly true of the SETA D1, which even has a bunch of 5.25″ bays on the front! You may laugh at those in 2023, but honestly, some people still need them! With the near complete lack of these on almost all “gaming” cases, it’s great to see some new cases that have this option.

Silverstone SETA D1

Old-school cool is in abundance with the overall aesthetic of the SETA D1, but when it comes to hardware support, this case is serious modern business! It’ll support mini-ITX, micro-ATX, ATX, E-ATX and SSI-CEB motherboards. There’s room for a 270mm GPU or 394mm GPU with an HDD cage moved out of the way. There’s extensive radiator support in the front, top and back, and some seriously impressive storage device support; 5.25″ x 4* (HDD combo bay supports up to 3), 3.5″ x 2, 2.5″ x 2, 3.5″ / 2.5″ x 6. Fancy building a home server, rendering rig, or even your own NAS? This may be the perfect case for it!
