SilverStone are one of my favourite chassis manufactuers at the moment, mostly for their unique and innovative design features that have seen them create many of the smallest, highly functional yet very stylish HTPC, M-ITX and other small form factor chassis and while that trend seems set to continue throughout 2013, SilverStone are about to make a BIG impression, literally. Don’t forget to check out page two of this article, we’ve got a real treat for you there.
On offer are a few huge chassis designs that feature support for some of the largest motherboard form factors on the market, extreme heavy duty cooling and durability. While most all the research has gone into performance over design they still look fantastic but I must point out that these are pre-production samples and as such quality might not look upto retail specifications.
The twin fans in the front of this system are extemely heavy duty, extra deep and of a superbly high quality, an oversized arch on the front panel allows for a huge air intake space on the left and right side of the front panel.
King of the heavy duty range was this cheeky beast, with a slide down front panel and some very heavy duty air intake slots across the front panel.
The rear of the chassis shows even more heavy duty panels, supports and fan mounts that are designed on an industrial level.
The front of this beast features those fantastic heavy duty coolers as well as a heavy duty air filter not unlike those you would find in a car engine, making this perfect for industrial applications and unsafe enviromnents.
At the other end of the scale is this slick HTPC chassis, which looks great with its half mirror front panel, plentiful cooling and SFX PSU supports.
Further up the size range is this fantastic ML04 chassis, which is not unlike their other HTPC chassis designs but at nearly half the height its perfect for those trying to save space.
Hot on the heels of the stunning PS07 which we reviewed recently is the new PS08, a fantastic looking Micro-ATX chassis that I think will prove a popular option for the rapidly growing mini-chassis market.
Another strong area for SilverStone is their PSU range, whicle they offer a solid range of fully modular, modular and non modular PSU’s, its their size that makes a real impact. Their common PSU is 20mm shorter than most on the market and their SFX PSU is immensely small making it ideal for HTPC, M-ATX systems and more.
Speaking of small form factors, this thin-mini-ITX chassis is one of their best. The PT13 supports the low profile motherboard format that makes it ideal for a discrete system, perfect for those who are short on space or like to keep things highly portable.
True SilverStone fans travel in style and while this isn’t a new product for SilverStone they felt it needed more exposure. It’s pretty robust and well made, not to mention it looks cool.
The world of accesories is a busy one for SilverStone this year, with power bricks, storage devices, external ports, WiFi devices and more to keep you connected.
NAS storage gets a stylish addition too from a full range of Mobile & Treasure Storage solutions.
New CPU coolers, add in cards, USB hubs, ultra fine dust filters and my favourite the new range of PSU extension cables complete the set.
