A Closer Look – EB01-E
The EB01-E is a very similar looking beast to the EB03, its footprint is the same size, but it’s only about 2/3 the height of the EB03. Under the overlapping aluminium panel on the front are two LED indicators marked Power and Play.
More sweeping aluminium panels with the same attention to detail on every edge and corner.
Around the back you’ll find RCA out which is perfect for hooking it up to your speaker system, or even better, the EB03 headphone amp. Line in is handled by a choice of coaxial, optical and USB. You can connect more than one source at a time if you have multiple audio sources, which can be toggled via the SW button at the rear of the device. However, the USB cable is still required for power, even if you’re not sending your audio via USB.
Unlike the EB03, the EB01-E has no dial on the top, the EB03 can be stacked on top of it with ease and this will save you a little desktop space. The fact that their curved front panels and general design match means that they look great together anyway.
The underside features four sturdy feet with grippy rubber pads, so they shouldn’t slide around your desktop at all.
