SilverStone launched a new chassis designed for Intel Mini-STX motherboards and despite its tiny size, the new VT02 has quite a bit to offer. The tiny case supports standard boxed Intel coolers, multiple storage drives, and easy VESA mounting for a hidden setup.
The SilverStone VT02 chassis has a simple square setup with plenty of ventilation holes on the sides and the top. The rear side is mostly occupied by the IO shield, but there’s a cutout for an extra RS232 port too. The front has cutouts for the onboard USB Type-A and Type-C headers along with headphone jacks. Most normal cases offer front-faced connection ports too, and so does this tiny VT02 chassis. Despite that the motherboard will go all the way to the front of the chassis and already provides front access through onboard ports, more can be added through the optional USB cutouts at the top.
Such a compact chassis could easily prove difficult to equip with storage drives, but the VT02 is surprisingly roomy. Below the motherboard is room for two 2.5-inch drives, allowing you to install both high-capacity hard disk drives and faster solid state drives. A lot of the compact boards also come with an M.2 or mSATA slot, allowing you to install even more storage.
With just 1.8 litres volume, the SilverStone VT02 can find a place almost anywhere on your desk. But if you can’t then you can easily mount it on walls or monitors through the included VESA MIS-D 75 mount clips.
