Skyrim Has More Players Than Starfield

So far Starfield is not having a good week firstly with it being left out of this year’s Game of the Year awards, with it not even being a nominee. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise to me as the game divided its audience from people who liked it to people who thought it was the most boring and blandest game they’d ever played, just a buffet of nothing that meant nothing, with a main story that was just a glorified fetch quest I’m guessing you can tell which person I was.
Starfields Player Count
Secondly and a little more recently it has been discovered that on Steam, Starfield has a smaller player base than Skyrim, a game that is almost 12 years its senior. Of course, many Starfield players are going to be on Games Pass but the same can be said for Skyrim which is also on Games Pass.
I think that this highlights the reason why Starfield was left out of the game awards as it didn’t really mean anything it was just a bunch of nothing stringed together that ultimately meant nothing. Don’t get me started on how tame it is despite its adult age rating.
Just take a look at the games that are nominated to be game of the year Alan Wake 2, Spider-Man 2, Tears of the Kingdom, Baulders Gate 3. All games focus on the story a carefully crafted narrative not just a show and tell of how many empty grey-brown planets can be fit into one game.
