Skyrim LAA patch has arrived, gamers finally happy

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has recently seen a new patch, version 1.31, which finally enables Large Address Aware by default. Gamers are now freed from the use of clunky LAA mods to solve their problems.

While console gamers didn’t see any problems, PC gamers on the other hand experienced several problems such as crashes and problems with accented characters which do not display properly. In addition to this, the patch also bring a fix for gamers with more than 4GB of memory.

PC gamers are now happy as this means that they can all enjoy the stability they want as well as a performance boost. Users can also enjoy their mods without crashing when adventuring and exploring the vast lands offered by Skyrim.

This certainly makes a good impression for Bethesda’s customer support which seemed to have listened to the reported issues and worked on an answer to solve them.

The patch is available from Steam and should directly apply once the Steam client gets restarted.

Skyrim Large Address Aware Patch:

  • Allows Skyrim to use 3GB of ram on 32bit OS up from 2gb
  • Allows Skyrim to use 4gb of ram on 64bit OS up from 2gb
  • Improved Stability with mods
  • Single and Multi GPU systems gain a bit of performance from Driver Optimizations
