I’ve been enjoying the lands of Skyrim once again this last week or two, and the upgraded graphics are a real treat, especially now that many of the best mods are slowing filtering into the new engine. However, there was one major problem with the Special Edition release, as updated console release of the game got beautifully realised high-res audio, while the PC was left with muddy files that were excessively compressed; a technique often used on older consoles to cut down on the installer size.
Thankfully, Bethesda has now released a new patch on Steam which will auto-download the next time you log-in, fixing the audio issues, as well as a few other welcome bug fixes.
