Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Chip Will See a Big Boost in Performance, According to a Rumor

Specifically, according to the latest rumor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will bring significant improvements over the current chip.

According to a post from the informant Digital Chat Station on Weibo (thanks PhoneArena), the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will use the second generation of the Oryon CPU, which will bring a 25% increase in performance compared to the current generation. The GPU is also expected to improve by 30%, with its cache memory increasing from the current 12 MB to 16 MB.

The new chip may also support the advanced LPDDR6 RAM, replacing the existing LPDDR5X and LPDDRX5 formats. The new RAM will have a faster transfer speed, ranging from 10.6 to 14.4 Gbps, compared to the current 8.533 Gbps of LPDDR5X. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be built by TSMC using the 3-nanometer manufacturing process, which will help lower production costs compared to the 2-nanometer process. This new chip could be found in high-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S26, OnePlus 14, and many others.
