Have you ever been chased by a goose? For those who haven’t, it’s not a very pleasant experience. For a start, they are relentless, a goose would pursue you to and throughout Hades. Secondly, their ‘honk’ is both loud and terrifying and finally, no one likes to be pecked.
Developer House House has, however, decided to turn all of this into a video game. Incredibly as well, even in pre-alpha footage, it does look amazingly fun to play.
In a report via PCGamesN, the as yet untitled ‘Goose game’ footage has been released showing just how awful geese can be.
One of the key factors of an indie game developer to succeed is to get noticed. I doubt that Undertales Toby Fox or Five Nights at Freddy’s Scott Cawthon would have succeeded had their games not come to the attention to YouTube personalities. I should note that reports did emerge at one point that some YouTube personalities had started charging for this service.
What doesn’t hurt your chances is making a game that is so bizarre it just simply warrants attention.
The premise of the game seems to be rather simple. You are a goose and you are to be as obnoxious or as obstructive as possible to those around you.
You have to admit it, the opportunity to play as a Goose terrifying and menacing people does sound amazingly fun. Although the pre-alpha doesn’t seem to imply it, I do like the concept as well as playing as a human character. The game would basically become a survival-horror if it did that.
You can’t help but draw the similarities to ‘Goat Simulator’. In games ‘crazy’ sometimes does work.
This isn’t the first game from developer House House as in addition, their current title ‘Push Me Pull You’ can be seen on their Steam page.
Check out the video footage below and let us know what you think. Does this look amazingly good or just too strange to believe? Let us know in the comments.
