Already revealed previously, Microsoft has distributed early versions of its upcoming Office 15 to select few. Some of these privileged selected have later revealed some screenshots of the upcoming suite. More news has been released, now detailing some of Office 15’s new features.
As reported, Office 15 has been influenced a lot by Windows’ new Metro interface, thus offering a cleaner interface with full touch support, making it easier to work on tablets, smartphones and even desktop. Word is one of the first to receive some updated features with double-click to zoom, smoother scrolling, video embeds as well as the ability to share documents online through a browser.
Excel is part of the updated sections as well with the inclusion of formatting controls and chart animations. PowerPoint is just as present and now features an ease of use in dropping Excel charts into presentations without messing with formatting. Outlook now includes weather forecasts, in-line replies and greater multiple e-mail account support. One Note has also been upgraded with improved tables support.
To top things off, these features are only one of the many, as Microsoft is still in the early stage of the testing the Technical Preview. Expect to see improvements in the Touch Mode interface as well as some possible new features to be added later. Be sure to check sometime during the summer for the public beta.
