We previously reported on the Tesla Model 3 and its production problems. Apparently, the company has failed to fulfill its production goals for this particular model, at least for 2017. In an attempt to take advantage of the situation, someone tried to sell a Model 3 on Craigslist for $150,000. The car in question had just 2,000 miles on the odometer. It also featured the VIN No. 209, meaning that it was indeed a very early model. Considering that such a car would probably go for about $56,000, the seller would have made a hefty profit. Moreover finding a similar online posting would be close to impossible. As such, there’s a good chance a buyer would have surfaced soon.
Not long after the post started to get some views on Craigslist and Reddit, it was quickly removed. It’s likely that Tesla gave the car away to an employee, who then tried to sell it for a profit. However, the company strictly forbids this, and trying to sell the car in such a public manner was definitely a bad move. Fortunately, someone managed to save the post before it was removed, which is why we can show it to you in its entirety. Some of the vehicle’s main highlights included a Panoramic Roof, Aero Wheels, and a Premium Interior.
Tesla has not issued an official comment on the matter.
