2017 is shaping up to be a decent year for our favorite blue hedgehog. With at least 2 games set to be released this year, Sega’s much-mistreated mascot is finally getting the attention he deserves. When you compare him to his overweight plumbing counterpart at Nintendo, Sonic has had a raw deal.
I’m certainly not expecting any releases this year to get him back on par, but maybe he can at least get the recognition he deserves.
Is it asking too much to have a decent game again in this franchise?
Sonic Mania, the latest game in the Sonic series sees a return to the more familiar retro settings and fans of the series are seriously looking forward to this. Unfortunately, Sonic Mania, which is due to release on the 15th of August has had a delay reported PcGamesN.
The good news is, the release for the console is still going ahead. So PS4 and Xbox One owners can breathe a sigh of relief. You will get your Sonic Mania fix on August 15th.
PC owners, on the other hand, have got to be patient.
You can buy the remastered soundtrack on vinyl if you like. Just in case you can’t wait those couple of days.
Fortunately, it’s not too long and the reasons sound good. Sonic Mania will release on PC August 29th. Just a 2-week delay.
The delay is to provide an additional bit of polish to the PC version.
There’s very little worse in the gaming industry, as far as I’m concerned, than a sloppy PC port. I’d rather wait a little longer to get a solid release than getting a glitch ridden mess on launch.
With Sonic Forces also due to be released before the end of the year, those blast-processors are going to get quite a workout.
