SEGA Confirms Sonic Frontiers PC Requirements!

Sonic the Hedgehog has certainly had a rough time of it since the 90s. While he’s certainly had more than a few gaming releases over the last 20 years, I’d honestly struggle to name you one that I thought was actually good (except for Sonic Mania which only mostly saw success because it was essentially a rehash of the original titles). – With the upcoming release of Sonic Frontiers, therefore, let’s just say that I’m setting the bar low for Sega here in the hope that I might be pleasantly surprised!

With it set for a PC release on November 8th, however, will your system be able to handle it? Well, following an official update to its Steam Store website, we now have the answer (and it’s mostly good news for those of you on older hardware!).

Sonic Frontiers – PC Requirements!

The official PC requirements are, of course, based on a 1080p resolution gaming experience. With that being said though, they’re not too bad and as long as your system is fairly relevant, you shouldn’t have too many difficulties getting this to run!

Minimum Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-Bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660, 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7870, 2 GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 30 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: 720p Low @ 30 FPS. Requires a CPU which supports the AVX and SSE4 instruction set.

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-Bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56, 8 GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 30 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: 1080p High @ 60 FPS. Requires a CPU which supports the AVX and SSE4 instruction set.

Where Can I Learn More?

With Sonic Frontiers taking an open-world design, it will clearly be interesting to see if Sega can finally figure out how to get this to work well with the overall mechanics of their supersonic (and exceptionally ill-treated) blue hedgehog. – With it set for release on November 8th, however, we don’t have much longer to wait before we find out!
