With its 25th Anniversary, Sonic has come a long way since it first came and welcomed us to the world where a blue hedgehog could save all the little critters hidden within robots. It looks like the hedgehog is anything but stopping as a new game has just been announced.
The new game will be called Sonic Mania and is looking at a release in Spring 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For those who have turned away from the franchise because of its approach to 3D games and exploration, you’ll be pleased to hear that the new game will be 2D and include classic stages with “new twists”.
The game looks to bring players together with a classic experience on all new stages with the chance to play not just as Sonic but also Tails and Knuckles. With classic levels and characters being brought back Sonic’s getting even greater with a new move that means your time in the air doesn’t have to slow you down due to the new drop dash move.
The new game looks like it came straight from a Megadrive with slightly smoother graphics and new gameplay features, are you going to go rush after the new game or wait to see if it’s as fast a seller as the blue hedgehog it follows?
