Sony is announcing three compact and officially-licensed controllers for the PlayStation 4, just in time before the holiday season. Last year, Nacon and Razer released competitive “Pro” controllers to the system. This time, users looking for a portable alternative would be glad to see Nacon, @Play and HORI’s offerings. All three should be available across all regions starting November.
Nacon’s compact PS4 controller is ideal for younger players and those with smaller hands. It even has an LEDs for relaying in-game information. Aside from having core controls, it also has a stereo headset jack, vibration motors, and a touch pad.
As for color options, players can choose between black, blue, grey, orange and red. There will also be alternate illuminated versions with red, blue or green builds.
@Play takes a more traditional approach with a two-tone design and aims for comfort. It also has a stereo headset jack, a touchpad, vibration motors and a 3 metre long cable. Users can choose between soft-touch red, blue, dark grey or white colors.
Last but definitely not the least, HORI’s mini gamepad adorably resembles Nintendo’s JoyCon. Not just because of the blue and red color options (also available in black), but because of the shape and size as well. Children will love this controller as it is perfect for their hand size. Older players would love it for its “retro” design. This goes on sale on all regions starting November 6th.
