For those of you who loved the PSP and are eagerly awaiting its return, there may be some good news for you from Sony.
Following a report from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming who has discovered that a new PlayStation handheld is in development. This new Handheld has been codenamed the Q Lite and will utilise remote play with the PlayStation 5 which was revealed recently. Remote play supports adaptive streaming up to 1080p and 60FPS and requires a constant internet connection, remote play seems to lay the groundwork for a new PSP.
Insider Gaming claims that the early prototypes of the Q Lite show that it will look a lot like a PS5 controller but with a massive 8-inch LCD touchscreen. Being based on a PS5 controller it should feature adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. The device also features all the standard buttons that a handheld should have, volume controls, speakers ports and jacks. It is also claimed that the Q Lite is currently in its QA phase and expected to release before the PlayStation 5 Pro which is stated for Holiday 2024 so we could see it this year.
