Sony gearing up for a major announcement on Feb 20th, maybe about PlayStation 4?

Sony sent invitations to several media houses on Thursday and one does suspect that this could be for an announcement that would me made on February 20th, most likely for the unveiling of the next Generation PlayStation 4.

Although many would see this as a rumour or an unconfirmed report, The Wall Street Journal on the other hand seems to know that Sony Corp. will reveal the new console during the February event.

The Japanese based electronic giant put up a “See the Future” teaser video for its fans, but still doesn’t give any clue what they plan to showoff.

There is a rumour that the console will most likely retain an optical disc drive since its a lot more convenient for customers to obtain and play. It is also rumoured that Sony will be using AMD based design on their console, however there is a doubt about backwards compatibility with the currents titles. If its not compatible, this may turn out to be a sad part for Sony’s console owners.
