Sony To Launch An Octa-Core 6-inch Phablet Codenamed “Tianchi”

Sony had a really busy year, and will not stop here it seems. After several high-end smartphones, tablets and phablets, it appears that the company also wants to offer users an alternative to the already growing mobile market, in which ASUS Fonepad Note 6 and Nokia Lumia 1520 lurk.
The Sone Xperia Tianchi is the phablet to compete with the above mentioned competitors, and is quite like a big brother Z Ultra. The flashgrip is equipped with a 6-inch display, but it seems will not packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. The Japanese phone maker has been working very closely with MediaTek on their upcoming “true octa-core” chipset. So the Tianchi will most likely come with the MediaTek MT6592 SoC, combining eight Cortex A7 cores in one chip.
If the rumors turn out to be true, Sony will be announcing their 6-inch phablet codenamed Tianchi at the Shanghai event in China on the 12th of November. Rumors also indicate that the pricing will be around €400 ( £341 ).
